Listed below are membership fees for all persons who are also current members of the AHSA. If you are not an AHSA member, an additional fee of $30.00 is payable with membership fees to cover insurance.

CURRENT FINANCIAL MEMBERS ARE ENTITLED TO:

• Participation in all Society functions.
• Right to vote (except Juniors) at General meetings and eligibility for election to the Management Committee and Associated Offices.
• Receive periodic issues of the Society newsletter and notice of meetings and functions.

2008 MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS ARE NOW DUE



MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS 2008

 

It’s been a strange and scary year, but we are hoping for better things in 2008, so it’s time to renew your membership again. You will find your renewal form in your December newsletter, or you can download it from this site.

 

In accordance with a decision made at the 2007 AGM, we are asking everyone who is not also an AHSA member, to pay an extra $30 so that they have the same 24/7 public liability insurance cover that AHSA members have. The membership form gives you the option to delete this amount from your membership amount total if you are an AHSA member, so if that’s you, no increases to fees in 2008.

 

You might wonder how we will know at this stage if you have renewed your AHSA membership for 2008? To make things easy, we will take your word for it now, but we will check our membership list EARLY IN 2008 with the AHSA. If we find that you forgot to renew your AHSA Membership, we will send you a bill for an extra $30.

 

Please complete the form and send it with your cheque (SA ARABS Inc.) to me at the address on the form.

OPEN GENERAL MEETINGS FOR THE CLUB

A NEW IDEA

 

In accordance with the amended Constitution, we have been holding General Meetings twice a year for members to come and air their views about various issues. They have not been at all well attended, and at the last one on 18/9/07, attendance was so low that we failed to achieve a quorum. This was a waste of time and a disappointment for those who did make the effort to go, not to mention the cost of hiring the venue.

 

At a recent committee meeting, we decided to try, for the next 12 months, opening two normal committee meetings to the members. You can see how we work, maybe decide you’d like to have a go yourself. You may also wish to advise the committee of a motion to be raised at the meeting for voting (remember that we need time to advertise your motion, preferably in the newsletter, with 21 days notice).

 

These two open meetings will be spaced over the year, also taking account of the AGM in May, and we have nominated February and September for the open meetings in 2008. The dates will be 13 February and 10 September. Subject to any change in plans, they will be held at 7.30pm in the Payneham Community Centre at 374 Payneham Road Payneham.

 

So – put them in your diary now, and watch this space!
